Dance Essentials

As I prepare for two dance shows, one being a more intimate studio showing, and the second a larger Vegas-themed show, I’m realizing how critical it is to keep certain pieces of dancewear on hand. Stacy and Clinton of What Not to Wear and Tim Gunn of the fashion world have their staples; these are mine. Once you purchase them, they’ll seem indispensable. (Also, if you buy pieces of good quality, they’ll last you for years. I have a leotard from the mid 90s, and it served me extremely well. Today, I finally broke down and replaced it).

My Essential Pieces (please feel free to add your own!):

  • Short black biker shorts/booty shorts
  • A black leotard
  • A solid black camisole tank
  • Black trunks/spanx
  • Black fishnets
  • White shorts (for under see-through white costumes)
  • A strapless backless bra

I’ve largely rebuilt my dance wardrobe, but I still need to find that elusive last item, especially since the place where I purchased my former one has since closed. Any suggestions?
